"IN TEES" Colleen Herman, Artist and Designer

These stories continue to evolve for me as the Creative Director of this brand. I love to see our tees land in a new home with their new owner and to see where their new life takes them. To see how they are interpreted and woven into a new story with an entirely different creative director is the definition of #1920everyday. I was lucky enough to sit down with the lovely and talented Colleen Herman (and photographer Kiki Conway) at her studio in Tribeca to talk all things Colleen, art and tees (of course). Colleen Herman is one of those people that is a ray of light, an extremely talented ray of light to be exact. Not only is she...

"IN TEES" Jamie Haller, Creative Director NSF and Icons Los Angeles

Jamie Haller is one of those extremely special people + she happens to be one of my dearest friends and influencers throughout the years. It seemed only natural we pair 1 9 2 0 x NSF/ ICONS for an interview and little editorial. Jamie and I began our friendship 15+ years ago in Los Angles when we were young designers; she designing refined suiting and myself fully fashioned knitwear. We were drawn to each other through our great love of all things design, but mostly because we thought we were extremely funny and we somehow got each other on every level.  We have grown so much in that time from young designers to full on businesswomen and that is something...

"IN TEES" Emelie Ivansson

I am very excited to share with you our conversation with the beautiful and talented Emelie Ivansson. Emelie and I first met in the Summer of 2017 over an iced latte to discuss the businesses we were both working on launching. It was aesthetic love at first sight. Emelie is as Swedish as they come and I am a bonafide Scandiphile. I was completely in awe of her modest, yet insanely refined and modern line of organic lingerie. Shortly after that (while I was actually in Copenhagen researching all things Scandinavian modern) I reached out to her looking for some information on website build and to my astonishment I learned she could also do that! Em and I met when I returned stateside and the rest is history, this website (1920) was built with Emelie's incredibly refined and talented...

"IN TEES" ROMY AND MAXIM NORTHOVER

We put the extremely creative brother and sister duo Romy (artist/designer) and Maxim (photographer) Northover to the task of capturing what 1 9 2 0 means to them in London over the holidays. We also were able to sit down and hear about what they are up to and what makes them tick. I hope you enjoy this feature of "IN TEES" as much as well do.  ROMY: With the images we wanted to really bring out the quality of the cotton with the tee's because this is what is really special about 1920 we wanted to show how it feels to wear them. There is intentional ambiguity about male or female in the Tee shirt - unisex feel - Also...
